Each sitter provides multiple strong references to Southern Sitters. These references are available to our families upon request! We use these references to confirm sitter experience and dependability. 

Our interview team also reviews each candidate’s social media to ensure that all team members maintain a professional online presence. 

2+ Years of childcare experience

Every Southern Sitter has over 2 years of professional childcare experience. This experience can include teaching, daycare work, babysitting, nannying, pediatric medical care, newborn care, camp counselor positions, tutoring, and more. 

We hire sitters that love to engage children in activities and learning opportunities on every babysitting job. They are familiar with developmental milestones and educated on how to handle many childcare scenarios.

Childcare + cpr Certified

Each Southern Sitter completes extensive company babysitter training and obtains a CPR certification upon being hired. After training and testing, sitters receive a Southern Sitter childcare certification. Southern Sitters are required to attend monthly training meetings and all sitters accept 3+ jobs per month to keep experience current.

Many of our team members are first aid certified, registered nurses, teacher certified, CNA certified, BLS certified, CPR / AED certified, lifeguard certified, and COVID-19 vaccinated. We offer monthly opportunities for sitters to become CPR certified or renew CPR certifications. Use the “notes” section when booking to request a sitter with a specific certification!

EXCEL IN ACADEMICS

Our sitters are homework experts! We hire sitters that take pride in their grades and education. Many of Southern Sitters are students, college graduates, grad school students, and masters graduates. All student sitters showcase exceptional extracurricular involvement.

Each Southern Sitter candidate completes an extensive interview process. Our comprehensive childcare interview has been designed by professionals to assess a potential Southern Sitter’s experience level, certifications, education, childcare skills, professionalism, enthusiasm, and punctuality.
