How it Works

  • 1. Download the App

    Submit your date, start and end time, location, number and ages of children, and anything else you'd like your caregiver to know on the Southern Sitter app.

  • 2. Set Your Hourly Rate

    Choose the hourly rate you'd like to offer for your booking. A competitive rate can help make your request more attractive to available caregivers.

  • 3. Submit Your Request

    Pay a $20 booking fee per request, or become a Southern Sitters member for $65/month and enjoy $0 booking fees on your babysitting requests.

  • 4. Connect With Your Sitter

    Once a Southern Sitter accepts your booking, you'll receive information about the Southern Sitter caring for your family. You can chat with your sitter directly!

  • 5. Enjoy Your Plans

    Head to dinner, tackle your to-do list, go to work—or simply take some time for yourself.

  • 6. Pay Your Sitter Directly

    After your booking, pay your sitter directly at the hourly rate you selected. No complicated payment process—just simple, straightforward childcare.

Our Date Night Sitter Placement is designed for families who want a consistent, trusted babysitter for 1–5 evenings per month.

Tell us what you're looking for and our placement team will introduce you to three vetted Southern Sitters who fit your family's needs and schedule. You'll have the opportunity to interview your candidates, meet them in person or schedule a trial, and choose the sitter who feels right for your family.

Once you've found your match, we'll help reserve your sitter for your family's ongoing date nights.

$150 One-Time Placement Fee

Plus $65/month membership, which includes your dedicated date-night sitter and $0 booking fees on unlimited Southern Sitters babysitting requests.
